Springfield, Mass., May 15, 2012 – NXT Nutritionals Holdings, Inc. (“Company”) (OTCBB: NXTH) developer and marketer of SUSTA™ Natural Sweetener, the great tasting, all-natural, healthy sweetener, and Healthy Dairy® non-fat yogurt smoothies that are sweetened with SUSTA, announced today that it plans to file a Form 15 (Notification of Removal from Listing) with the Securities and Exchange Commission (“SEC”) to voluntarily delist its common stock from the OTC Bulletin Board (“OTCBB”). The Company’s filing obligations, which include the Form 10K, For 10Q and Form 8K are suspended as of the filing of the Form 15.

Commenting on this announcement, Michael McCarthy, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Company said: “The Company’s decision to delist and suspend reporting obligations was made after careful consideration of the advantages and disadvantages of being listed on the OTCBB and the increasing expense of complying with the many SEC laws and regulations. The benefits of being listed on the OTCBB no longer outweigh the significant legal, accounting and administrative costs associated with maintaining a listing on the OTCBB, including those created by the Sarbanes-Oxley Act. The Company will continue to remain operating and concentrate its efforts on rebuilding its business model to increase revenues and to grow organically.”

The Company expects that its common stock will continue to be quoted on the Pink Sheets, a centralized quotation service that collects and publishes market maker quotes for securities.

I spent much of the day trying to decide how to use of some of my flax. The timing wasn’t right for waffles or pancakes, and reading all the pumpkin recipes popping up made me think about a quick bread or muffins.

I found a recipe for Pumpkin Spice Bread over at Fat Free Vegan and decided to modify it. I was a little worried that I’d end up with bricks when I subbed flax and oat bran for so much of the flour, changed the sweeteners and used whole wheat pastry flour, but these muffins are delightfully fluffy and soft. I ate two just to be sure.

I also left out the egg replacer, I figured the recipe didn’t need it with all the flaxmeal, and decided to make some almond buttermilk instead of using water because I remembered something about buttermilk baked goods more tender.

I used Susta and coconut sugar instead of sugar and brown sugar because I told you a have a food hoarding problem! wanted something a little less sweet for breakfasts, but I’m sure regular sugars would be fine. These weren’t overly sweet, but I’d probably still cut down the white portion of the sugar to 3/4 cup next time I made them.

I was recently contacted by Susta Natural Sweetener to spread the word about their Armed Forces day twitter giveaway. So after reading more about it, I talked to the company and they offered me samples to try their product. This was totally cool! So I said yes, and I have the perfect thing that we would try it in, Sweet Ice Tea. My mom and husband drink that like it is water! So what is Susta is a great-tasting, all-natural sweetener that contains probiotics, fiber, vitamins, minerals and other ingredients for optimal health. The product review I got came in a big bag and small packets. Susta tastes really good, I was nervous at first, I read the dangers of trying processed sugars, so I didn’t want to get into health problems. However Susta tastes good and it is pretty good for you. So there is no after taste, mixes easy too.

When it comes to artificially-sweetened beverages, everyone should just say no. The American Diabetes Association (ADA) claims they’re “blood sugar-friendly,” but that’s just so they can sell their ADA Seal of Approval to diet soft drink manufacturers. (In case you missed last week’s Op Ed, click here to read why these sweeteners are so bad for you.) Sparkling water with juice, cucumber slices, or a citrus peel is a much healthier way to go.

Here are some aspartame-free products that we like:

Calorie-free canned drinks: Knudsen’s Sparkling Essence

Yogurt: plain organic yogurt (full-fat is fine) with fresh fruit. If you must, sweeten it with Navitas Naturals low-glycemic yacon syrup or lucuma powder.

Alternative sweeteners we favor: Steviva and Susta

Did you know there is a great sugar alternative that actually helps transform sugars and carbohydrates into healthy energy? NXT Nutritionals Inc. is leading the way with their healthy natural foods, beverages and their groundbreaking new sugar alternative, SUSTA Natural Sweetener. And this is one sweet little sweetener. After trying a sample, it’s replaced all those “other” sweeteners in my house. It’s light fruity taste makes it perfect for your fruit bowl, sun tea, lemonade stand, citrus bar recipe, salad dressings and marinades … you name it. SUSTA contains probiotics, fiber, vitamins, minerals and other all natural ingredients. It’s heart healthy and great for your bones and immune system. There’s no funny bitter aftertaste; trust me, my son would let us know; so yes, kids will like it too. We sprinkle SUSTA on our cereal, and you can use it in place of sugar in your fruit punch drink mix.

SUSTA Natural Sweetener (Vegan, Gluten-Free, Nut-Free, Soy-Free)
For those of you who don’t know me, I will let you in on a little secret…I am a health nut. When you have had as many digestive issues as I have had…you get to the point where you only want to eat or drink things with a purpose. You always question what will happen if you eat or drink the wrong thing. I have always been into probiotics to ease my stomach in digestion. So, when the makers of Susta asked me if I would be interested in trying out their product, I jumped on the idea. [Susta contains probiotics + prebiotics and reportedly aids digestion]
